Papworth Trust joins Unity Campus

Howard Group provides local charity with an affordable and well-equipped new home.
Cambridge, 2nd April 2025: Leading regional property investor and developer Howard Group, is delighted to welcome local charity Papworth Trust – a leading disability charity that supports thousands of people, their families and carers every year – to Unity Campus.
The charity has committed to a five-year lease of 3,990 sq ft of ground floor space in the Iconix 1 building and is an excellent addition to the burgeoning and collaborative community of health and science companies at Unity Campus.
The new space, which includes a kitchenette, breakout area, meeting room, and high-quality offices with an abundance of natural light, will serve as a day centre supporting disabled people.
In addition, a dedicated outdoor area will be made available for the Trust’s use following planned landscaping works, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Katherine Friend, Director – Investment and Asset Management, Howard Group, said: “We are thrilled to provide Papworth Trust with an affordable, perfectly sized, and well-located new home at Unity Campus. As a charity dedicated to supporting disabled people to live independent and fulfilling lives, their work is invaluable to the community. We are delighted to welcome them to the Campus and look forward to seeing them flourish within our vibrant and supportive environment.”
Gail Williams, Service Manager, Papworth Trust, commented: “Papworth Trust is excited to be moving our South Cambridgeshire Day Opportunities service into Unity Campus in Sawston. We were looking for somewhere that could offer us long-term stability, is spacious both inside and out, and offered good links to the wider local community – and Unity Campus achieves this perfectly.
“From this location we’ll be able to support our disabled customers to increase their independence, deliver skills-based activities within the community as well as exploring volunteering and work opportunities. We can’t wait to get started.”
Unity Campus, located just south of Cambridge, offers excellent transport links and a thriving community with regular food trucks, an on-site café, a gym, and a calendar of community events, including summer barbecues, art and quiz evenings, and networking opportunities. Papworth Trust will now become part of this dynamic and welcoming environment, benefiting from both its facilities and its sense of community.
With the addition of Papworth Trust, the only remaining available space in Iconix 1 is a 3,559 sq ft ground floor suite.
