Making a difference in the local community

During an unofficial Campus volunteering week, Unity Campus member companies joined forces to give Icknield Primary School’s outdoor spaces a much-needed makeover — and what a transformation!
Across three days, teams from the Campus rolled up their sleeves and got painting:
Monday – The team from Telensa painted picnic benches and one of three bandstands;
Tuesday – Volunteers from Howard Group, Donna from BaxterStorey (Unity Café), and Countrywide tackled more landscaping and bandstand 2;
Wednesday – GetBusy and Domainex brought fresh colour to fences and the final bandstand.
A special thank you to Countrywide Grounds Maintenance who stepped in with four full days of landscaping – clearing the pond, removing dead trees, and even creating beautiful log seating areas.
Jess Harvey-Bowman, Community Engagement Manager, Unity Campus, said: “This is what community and collaboration looks like – and we’re so proud of our member companies for their time, energy, and creativity. The results are fantastic, and they’ve made a huge impact on the school’s outside learning area. We hope to be returning later on in the summer to continue supporting the school.”
