Re-development of Sawston Trade Park

Community Liaison Service

As we move through the regeneration and development of Unity Campus, we will keep in touch with the surrounding community through the Community Liaison Service.

Construction of The Works is being completed by Morgan Sindall. Committed to considerate construction, Morgan Sindall and Howard Group are aiming to ensure that disruption to residents during the process is kept to a minimum by: Restricting noise on site between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.

  • Staff arrive on site at 7am, there may sometime be exceptions to this
  • Any deliveries that arrive before 8am will be bought on site and told to turn off their engines and wait until 8am to unload
  • No work shall be carried out on Sundays or Public Holidays

The community surrounding Unity Campus is encouraged to keep in touch to ask questions or raise concerns via email enquiries@unity-campus.co.uk or by calling our Freephone number 0800 1583218. This is an answer phone service which is checked regularly on weekdays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can I get in touch with the site team?

The community liaison service exists so you can ask questions or raise any concerns relating to our work or our contractors. This service is handled by Athene Communications and we are required to inform you that your data (name and contact details if provided) will be stored for the sole purpose of responding to your query. Athene will respond directly to you, and where appropriate, investigate matters on site.

You can make contact by emailing enquiries@unity-campus.co.uk or by calling our Freephone number 0800 1583218. This is an answer phone service, which is checked regularly on weekdays.

Q: Will I be affected by construction on site?

We appreciate that construction work can cause some disruption to local people through noise and traffic. We are committed to keeping such disruption to a minimum. We have a designated gateman manning our site entrance at all times during working hours. He will marshal all vehicles on and off site and make sure the existing car park areas and roads are not affected.

Q: What times will work take place on site?

The working hours shall be between:

  • Restricted noise on site between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays
  • Staff arrive on site at 7am, there may sometime be exceptions to this
  • Any deliveries that arrive before 8am will be bought on site and told to turn off their engines and wait until 8am to unload
  • No work shall be carried out on Sundays or Public Holidays

Q: How will the site be accessed by construction traffic?

During construction the site will be accessed via London Road. We understand that this will cause more vehicles using this road, but we endeavour to keep the disruption to usual traffic to a minimum. We have a designated gateman manning our site entrance at all times during working hours. He will marshal all vehicles on and off site and make sure the existing car park areas and roads are not affected.

We will conduct road inspections and carry out road cleaning as and when necessary.

When leaving the site delivery vehicles are directed to turn right to avoid heading towards the village of Sawston or Pampisford.

If you see anything that you feel needs to be addressed, please contact us by emailing enquiries@unity-campus.co.uk or by calling the Freephone number: 0800 0352 874 so that we can investigate this for you.

Q: What about mud on the road?

We will be conducting road inspections and carrying out road cleaning as and when necessary to avoid disturbances to you and your neighbours. We have a designated wheel wash system on site, so all mud should be cleared from vehicles before they exit onto the main roads.

If you have any specific concerns regarding this, please get in touch via enquiries@unity-campus.co.uk or by calling the Freephone number: 0800 0352 874.

Q: What do I do if I have a noise complaint?

We do our best to keep disruption to a minimum, though our construction will unavoidably cause some noise. If at any point you find that the noise is on-going outside of our standard working hours times please get in touch with us via enquiries@unity-campus.co.uk or by calling the Freephone number: 0800 0352 874 and we will see if this can be resolved in any way.
